The 5R Legacy Riders program was created to support young riders and students who are committed to learning, growing, and building a future within the equine way of life. Through grants and scholarships, 5R Outfitters helps remove financial barriers and invests directly in those who are putting in the work... in the saddle, in the classroom, and beyond.

Mission Statement

Our mission is to support the next generation of riders and equine professionals by investing in horsemanship, education, and opportunity by helping young people build skills, confidence, and character both in and out of the arena.

Vision Statement

We envision a future where financial barriers do not limit a rider’s ability to learn, compete, or pursue an education in the equine industry by preserving the values of horsemanship, responsibility, and grit for generations to come.

Program Structure

The 5R Legacy Riders program is made up of two awards:

🐎 5R Horsemanship Grant

The 5R Horsemanship Grant supports youth riders who are actively learning the fundamentals of horsemanship.

Who it’s for

  • Young riders (typically ages 7–18)

  • Riders currently taking lessons or seeking access to instruction

  • Families committed to safe, responsible horsemanship

What it may be used for

  • Riding lessons or instruction

  • Clinics or camps

  • Horse lease fees

  • Tack or safety equipment

  • Other approved horsemanship-related expenses

This grant is designed to help young riders continue learning, growing, and building confidence through hands-on experience with horses.

🎓 The 5R Scholarship

The 5R Scholarship supports students pursuing higher education in equine-related fields.

Who it’s for

  • College or trade students enrolled in:

    • Equine Science

    • Animal Science

    • Agriculture or Ag Business

    • Veterinary or equine-focused programs

What it may be used for

  • Tuition

  • Books

  • Program or lab fees

  • Other approved educational expenses

Recipients are selected based on commitment to the equine industry, work ethic, character, and alignment with the values represented by 5R OUTFITTERS.

How Scholarships Are Funded

Scholarship funds are supported through 5R Outfitters and designated scholarship collections. A portion of proceeds from select products is allocated directly to the 5R Legacy Riders program.

Funds are awarded through an application and review process and distributed based on availability and merit.

Selection & Values

Recipients are selected based on:

  • Commitment to horsemanship or equine education

  • Demonstrated effort and responsibility

  • Personal character and growth mindset

  • Alignment with the values of 5R OUTFITTERS

This program is about investing in people who are putting in the work — not just talent, but dedication.

The 5R Legacy Riders program is a brand-supported scholarship initiative administered by 5R Outfitters. It is not a nonprofit organization, and contributions are not tax-deductible. All awards are granted at the discretion of 5R Outfitters based on published criteria and available funds.

Is my contribution tax deductible?

Is this a nonprofit or foundation?
No. The 5R Legacy Riders program is a brand-supported scholarship initiative administered by 5R Outfitters.
